Awards & Recognition
OMIA recognizes that the mutuals’ legacy of resilience, collaboration, and dedication to mutuality was built through the efforts of remarkable individuals and member companies who devote themselves to serving policyholders and their fellow mutual colleagues. Our Association presents the following awards annually.
Presidential Merit Award
The Presidential Merit Award is presented annually to an active mutual director or leader who has demonstrated a deep commitment to mutuality, service to the association, and accomplished leadership. Presidential Merit Award winners are generous contributors to their fellow mutuals and have a favourable influence on other members of the association.
Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to an individual who has retired from the mutuals after a long and noteworthy career. Their individual contributions and groundwork created a legacy that continued well past retirement from their mutual careers.
Outstanding Contributor Award
The Outstanding Contributor Award is presented each year to a member company that demonstrates leadership and service within the mutual system.
